July is rolling around again and its time for the annual Warcraft 2 Festival. The biggest tournaments of the year where players who have been hiding need to come out and see old friends. Rat & Drax won this Sundays 2vs2 Random partners tournament! It was a very exciting event which got to see alot of newer players finally get the chance to partner the veterans. Keep your eye out for the next tournament! Rat is now ranked 3rd on the Tournament score board. Drax is ranked 19th!

Apologies to Killman for posting this so late. Coming in May comes another chop tournament on one of the greatest custom maps ever made. In the words of Killman: "The Biggest Tournament of The Warcraft II BNE for Chop players called "TEAMCHOP 2008" is "under construction". Awesome Tournament event. We had 58 players sign up. Also we set a new record for users logged on the server at a time which maxed out at 86 tonight. 2vs2 Tournament at 4PM Eastern Time on server.war2.ru this Saturday Note: All Tournament games recorded on Insight and submitted to tnarick1@yahoo.com will be available on the next replay pack on the website. Tournament settings: Garden of War Classic map is required to be played. It is available in the download of War2Combat. Every round will be played on Even Faster speed and on high resources. Finals: Best of 3 series Double Elimination: Loser brackets will have a chance to compete for 1st place of the tournament. The winner of the final loser bracket goes into the finals with 1-0 disadvantage. Hacking/Accusations: All players who are asked for a screenshot must take one and I will help moderate the situation. Failing to send a requested screenshot will result in being banned from the server for 2 months and your account will be locked. Absent/Missing: Any players who leave for a certain length of time without playing their round will be disqualified from the tournament. If your opponent is missing please notify me and I will start the clock on watching for them to get back. Enjoy & have fun!

Yahmon and ~Ogrelust faced off in a best of 5 series against PenisCakes and AngryAntelope in the finals. Score was 2-1. In the third game of the night Antelope paused and requested a screenshot from ~Ogrelust, which he ended up not sending and logging off. This is not the first time he has dodged a screenshot and is now banned for 69 days. Both opposing players agreed to let Yahmon continue in a tournament with a substitute player who ended up being ^Paperboy~SoL^. Yahmon and Paperboy ended up winning the tournament with a 3-2 score. Thank you everyone who competed in todays 2vs2 Tournament, we had a total of 42 players. It was a great night and I hope everyone decides to come out to the next event. For full results go here:

October 21st marked the 1 year anniversary of the official opening of Server.War2.Ru. First off I would like to thank Ldir for providing us with a wonderful website, and thank iL for the making of War2Combat Edition. Next I would like to thank the thousands of different players who have logged on and competed in intense games on our server over the last year. We have come a long way in helping keep Warcraft 2 provided to those who have lost the game and their CD keys, and provided a place for the best players to compete. SD Clan members Prophecy & Skyangel won todays 2vs2 Tournament to claim a $30 prize. Semi-Finals they knocked out Pimster & Guan Yu in a best of 3 series on Spiral and Fierce Ocean Combat, and finished off the night against the allstar members of Team Sweden , Rat & Tabac[Man] in a Best of 5 series on GOW Classic. In the next year we will be hosting even more $$ Tournaments probably once or twice a month with bigger prizes , so everyone needs to continue to log on and practice as this next year the stakes will be higher.
We are 9 days away from the beginning of the Festival players just keep coming from Kali,Heat,Zone,Gamestorm,Kahn,AOL,MaG,Engage and Battle.Net's past. SoCxWarcheif who founded the Splintered Orcs Clan in 1997 has been contacted and will most likely join us. He has already logged on the server and played a few games. Five or six other SoC's are also registered down on the roster. Kazarian who finished 2nd in the Warcraft 2 Battle.Net Edition Ironman Season 2000 is now part of the roster. Other Notable Players joining in: Nerzyman,Guan-Yu,Shotgun,BHC-Hawk, Jarlaxle, and SuikodenTM.

Valkrie has put the final piece into the puzzle returning this year to the War2 Festival along with the other 3 Semi/Finalists.. Last year winning both of the major tournaments and winning the cash prize. After not being seen for over a year hopefully he still has what it takes to put up a good fight. Other top players signing up include: Cinder, NalzyMan, Sparkz, SC~Nixon, & Sexican.
Braviet who finished 2nd in last years Festival Tournament is here to claim victory this year as he signed up for the event. That makes Valkrie.. last years champion the only guy from the Final Four who has not made his return yet. We still have 2 weeks ahead of us. In other news Decap,KingMage, Mystical~SoL and IndyStorm will all be joining us this year. Server.War2.Ru Staff just recently did a interview with Bam102 who has been a longtime player on our Server. Kanuks won [24-7]Pimster's 1vs1 GOW TE Tournament today beating two members of the Shattered Dreams team. SD-Prophecy in Round 3 and SD-Archangel in the finals. Thanks everyone who showed up for the tournament, replay pack 3 will include games played.
~MoG comes out on top after the first SWPL Tournament this Saturday. Coming in a respective 2nd place was KGBAgent58 and Christian[Eur0] in 3rd. Tournament #1 of the 16 Tournaments in SWPL will be starting off this Saturday in a 1vs1 GOW Old EF Tournament at 4PM Eastern time. For information on how the league will be working read the rules page. Remember if you want to be involved on this be one of the first 32 players who show up for the Tournament when check ins begin a half hour beforehand. Semi-Finals are to be played on GOW TE and the losers will face off for 3rd place. Finals are to be played on GOW TE in a Best of 3 series to determine 1st and 2nd place. In todays 1vs1 GoW Old EF Tournament we watched ViRuZ win another big one beating out Bash[eur0] in a best of 3 series. Bash won game 1 then game 2 went 48 minutes. Finally Viruz won game 3 to take home the Tournament Trophy. Thanks everyone who played tonight at http://server.war2.ru and we will see you again next time! Starting November 1st we will be starting our first Ladder Season on http://server.war2.ru! The first one will be rather short lasting until December 4th, the day that Blizzard Created Warcraft 2. How Ladder is played: All top vs. bottom games will go towards your Ladder Record. You must have a even amount of players on each team. One vs. One settings will also count towards ladder record. -- RULES: 1. No abuse. No giving out free wins or your account will be locked and you will be banned 2. CAUGHT Hacking will also get you banned from the server. 3. Playing on Custom made maps without Resource management like Free Castles or 1 Alleria will also get you banned. Please report maps you see like this and who hosted them. -- The staff at Server.War2.ru is very excited for this first season because with how long its lasting we know it will be action packed! If you would like to donate money to the Ladder Season Pot, you can contribute it through paypal to dwaxe1@yahoo.com . NedoK hoster of the IW2PL thing last season which featured over 120 different players competing in tournaments to gain overall points for the season will be hosting a Tournament on http://server.war2.ru DATE/TIME: 29th of October (this sunday) at 6:00PM Eastern EST.
